Hatha Yoga 101
Starting a yoga practice can be confusing and intimidating, not to mention uncomfortable for those of us with tightness and tension in our bodies. Fall in love with yoga in this class designed for absolute beginners and those just starting to solidify a yoga practice. Students will learn safe alignment, breathing, and body awareness in a slow but steady sequence of poses that dynamically open the body to freer movement both on and off the mat. Modifications and props will be used to ensure that students find comfort and release. Intermediate and advanced students who want to get back to basics are also welcome.
Après Ski Yoga
Come enjoy Après Ski Yoga at the Living Room as we flow through a gentle all-levels vinyasa style practice. This is a class for everyone! We will build the heat, zeal, energy and vigor that stokes our internal fire as we tone our core and build muscle strength smartly.
Animal Flow Yoga
Animal Flow, is a modern movement practice inspired by various animal behaviors as a form of bodyweight exercise. It’s a creative and dynamic approach that combines elements of yoga, hand balancing, parkour & calisthenics.
Float Fit
Take your yoga practice to the next level—on water! This unique class brings the essence of stand-up paddleboard (SUP) yoga indoors to the pool, flowing on inflatable floating mats that challenge your balance, strength, and focus. All levels are welcome—no SUP or yoga experience necessary. Wearing a bathing suit is not required, as the goal is to stay on the board and out of the water; regular yoga/workout clothing is just fine. It’s recommended to bring a dry change of clothes in case you get a little wet or take a dip, by choice or not. Step out of your comfort zone and try something new—it could be your new favorite workout, especially if you bring friends along. See you on the water!
Vinyasa and Restorative
A yin-yang approach, this class will begin with a supported posture and develop into a moderately vigorous vinyasa flow cultivating strength, balance and flexibility. Restorative postures are offered in the second half of class to relieve stress and promote inner peace and well-being. Modifications and variations are offered making this class suitable for all level abilities.Instructor Bios
Laura Brown
While living in Brooklyn, Laura began yoga teacher training with Eileen Muir at Karuna Yoga and Healing Arts Center in Northampton, MA. Laura has continued to inform her practice and her teaching through intensives, immersions and several 10 day Vipassana meditation retreats, as taught by SN Goenka. She hopes that by continued and determined practice she may be of service to others on the path, linking breath to movement, and linking movement on the mat to a life of courage and sincerity off the mat.
Sally Larkin
Having immediately connected with the focused flow of her first Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga class in 2008; by Spring 2011 Sally completed Level I, Level II, Assistant Training with Baron Baptiste and received a 200 hour certification from Lifeline Power Yoga, registered with the Yoga Alliance. In April 2013 she completed a 500 hour certification with Live Love Teach. Sally is demanding and motivating, yet sensitive and patient. She builds on the needs of every individual and yet challenges her students in refreshing and inspiring ways.
Kellie - Pilates instructor
Kellie grew up taking ballet, skiing, playing soccer, lacrosse and running. Years later she found herself in Boulder CO as a rock-climbing instructor and the assistant manager of an indoor rock-climbing gym. There she took her first Pilates class where she was reminded of her youth and love for the art of Ballet. She immediately inquired about how to become an instructor. She started teaching in Vail, Colorado in 1996 and has taught in Tahoe, Martha's Vineyard, Reno and now here in Stratton, Vermont. Kellie has over 3000 hours of Pilates training. She enjoys the work, how it makes her feel and the gift it is to share with clients. She has now woven nutrition practices with her Pilates work personally as well as professionally.
Mike Mackey - Animal Flow
It was a yoga class on my “off day” at the gym over 20 years ago that transformed my life. With many years of excellent mentoring, I cultivated a mindful movement practice by consciously connecting my mind, body, breath, and spirit. As my yoga journey expanded, I was drawn to hot, power vinyasa which appealed to the athlete in me as it pushed me with challenge and growth. It was under the guidance of Polly Schmid, that I passed the Baptiste Yoga Instructors course, and was fortunate to be part of such an unbelievable and beautiful community of yogis she built for more than 10 years in Jamaica Vt.
I am passionate about assisting others to explore their mind-body connection. The goal is to assist with rebuilding a mindful approach to movement, that encourages ease and flow on their mat and as they move through daily life. Designed for all levels, expect our practice together to incorporate elements of Baptiste flow, as well as other yoga styles and movement modalities – all designed to build strength, balance, and deep focus on the body, mind and soul.
