The summit of Southern Vermont’s highest peak is only a scenic ride away. Take the Gondola for views that stretch clear across four states including the White Mountains, Adirondacks, Berkshires and Green Mountain ranges. Hike the historic fire tower or explore any of your favorite winter trails and plan a picnic lunch. Ride down to explore the Stratton Village filled with retail shops and restaurants.

  • Tickets can be picked up and/or purchased the day of at the HUB, located by the gondola in the main Base Area.
  • The last Gondola cabin up is 4:30pm. The last ride down is 4:45pm, you must return to download by this time or you will not be able to ride back to the base area.

  • Child carriers are permitted on the Gondola only. You may not bring a child carrier on American Express.

This address will bring you to the Stratton Welcome Center, and the main parking area on the west side of the Welcome Center. This is the best parking option for Scenic Lift Rides.

From here walk into the Village and towards the Clocktower. You may walk up the staircase between the Clocktower and First Run Ski Shop, or walk under the Clocktower and head up the stairs in the Courtyard.

From here you will see the Gondola and American Express lifts. You may pick up your Scenic Lift Ride Ticket at the HUB, the building located at the base of the Gondola stairs.

Frequently Asked Scenic Lift Ride Questions

What are the lift hours?
Lifts are open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 10am to 5pm. Scenic Lift Rides are also available on select Thursdays and holiday Mondays. For the most up to date hours, view the "Hours" tab on this page.

How do I book tickets online?
We recommend pre-purchasing your Scenic Lift Ride Ticket online before your arrival. Use the Booking Bar above to select your dates and purchase your desired tickets. Tickets can be picked up and/or purchased the day of at the HUB, located by the gondola in the main Base Area.

Can I use my Ikon Pass or Stratton Season Pass?
All 23/24 Ikon Pass, Ikon Base Pass, Strattitude, Summit, and Select pass holders can enjoy free Summer 2023 Scenic Lift Rides. If you have not yet received your pass in the mail, show your pass purchase confirmation email at the HUB in the main base area, next to the Gondola. From here we can look you up and print your daily Scenic Lift Ride ticket.

When is the last ride up?
The last ride up the mountain is 4:30PM

When is the last ride down?
The last ride down is 4:45PM, you must return to download by this time or you will not be able to ride a lift back to the base area.

Can I bring a dog on the gondola?
Dogs are allowed on the Gondola, but not on American Express. Please note dogs must be leashed at all times while at the resort and on the mountain.

Can I also ride American Express with my Scenic Lift Ride Ticket?
Your Scenic Lift Ride ticket is valid all day for both the Gondola and American Express lift.

What happens if there is extreme weather?
If thunder or lightning occurs, the lifts will need to shut down as soon as possible. An airhorn will sound at the summit, signifying riders to return to the gondola terminal immediately for a ride down to the base area.

Always dress accordingly in case of inclement weather at the summit. Temperatures may be lower and winds may be higher at the summit.
