Mother Nature was kind enough to coat the hill last night with another fresh inch of the light and fluffy, that's two more inches on the mountain since close yesterday. Today we are skiing and snowboarding on 92 trails, that includes two newly open runs: Rick's Catch 22 and Sunbeam. Check these trails out for some all-natural terrain skiing. If the groomers are more your thing, look no further, the grooming team laid down lined corduroy on 93% of the hill last night, including such trail favorites as Frank’s Fall Line and the Meadows.
Temperature forecasts are in the high teens at the base and low to mid-teens at the Summit. Winds are expected to reach 35 mph from the North. The sky will be partly sunny in the morning and open up to clear blue by the afternoon. The current temps as of 6am are 1 degree at the base and -5 at the summit. Don’t miss out on these packed powder and machine groomed surfaces, they will be here all week.
Everyone here is getting super stoked for the weekend. Want to know why? Because the Burton Mountain Festival is coming to Stratton! The events will begin January 30th and run through the 1st of February. Members of the Burton crew will be hanging at Stratton’s base area for three days with demos for you to try, tips and pointers for you to learn, and some sick swag for you to win. So to all you Stratton riders, be sure to check out all of the events happening on and off the hill this coming weekend.
We are also getting ready for one of our biggest events of the season. 24 Hours of Stratton is approaching. If you are unfamiliar with the event, take a look here. It is a ski-a-thon for all ages and abilities. It takes place on March 21, for a consecutive 24 hours. But the best way to find out what it is all about is by participating yourself. Registration is open so sign up and tell all your friends to do the same.
Safety Message: Slow down when entering lift mazes. Play safe, play smart and enjoy the mountain.
