Located at the base of Stratton is The Village, which offers an array of spectacular shopping, dining and entertainment opportunities including an impressive lineup of free live music events throughout this summer.
MOOSE CROSSING is a Poultney Vermont based instrumental jazz group specializing in the classics from Duke Ellington, Frank Sinatra, and Thomas "Fats" Waller, to Monk, Miles, Coltrane, and beyond. They mix the sounds and styles of the early greats with more contemporary music and styles. They can go from background music at a cocktail party to that in-your-face funk/jazz fashion band that keeps the joint jumpin' all night in the drop of a hat. MOOSE CROSSING has been playing in VT and NY main street hotspots since 2011 and have played from Grizzly's at Stratton Mountain to Manhattan Pizza in Burlington during Burlington's Discover Jazz Festival and everywhere in between. Zak Hampton fronts the band on the tenor sax with his left hand man Tim "The Mayor" Duch on the organ. Johnny Reiter holds down the bass lines and keeps the group together.
