Celebrate summer and Independence Day at Stratton Mountain’s Annual Mountain Friends and Freedom Festival. The whole family can enjoy fireworks, gondola rides, live music, barbecues, face painting and carnival games at the party of the summer.

Event Schedule


Saturday, July 1
10am–6pm: Gondola rides. Purchase tickets in advance

9-10am: Lolë Meet up Mid-Mountain Hike. Join Lole Stratton in this moderately-vigorous hike up the lower half of Stratton Mountain. Meet up begins at the Lole Store in Stratton Village at 9am. Learn more.

10:30am–12pm: Mountain Top Yoga Enjoy 90 minutes of yoga at the summit on the yoga deck. Class includes roundtrip gondola. Sign up in advance or at First Run (Sports Center $25 non-members/ $5 members).

4:30pm: Doggie and Me Hike. Bring your dog along for a hike to mid-mountain. Sign up at The North Face Summit Shop at 4:15pm. Hike will start at 4:30pm and be led by Paula Pelkey, who will include some refreshing yoga “pawses” throughout the hike. Attendees will receive a North Face gift along with exclusive discounts.

4-7pm: Music in the Village – Wayne Canney Trio

Sunday, July 2
8am-10am: Sunrise Hike & Yoga to Mid mountain. A guided hike to Mid-Mountain Lodge followed by an invigorating 60 minute vinyasa yoga class. Meet at First Run ski shop. Sign up in advance or at First Run.

10am–6pm: Gondola rides. Purchase tickets in advance

Running of the Bears 5K Race
7:30-8:30am: Running of the Bears 5K Registration is $35 in advance and $55 day ofin East Wing Base Lodge, First 100 participants receive a t-shirt .
9am: Race Start in Courtyard. Cash prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners mens and womens.
10am: Race Awards at finish area in Courtyard.

9am-1pm: Touch a Truck - Shiny fire engines, ambulences, and other big wheels on display sure to delight young and old alike.

9am-1pm: Family Discover Golf School or 1 Day Escape Tennis clinics available for all levels. Learn more

10am: Lolë Meet up Energizing Vinyasa Flow @ Grizzly’s Deck . A Vinyasa style yoga class, mats are available. Learn more

12-3pm: Face Painting (Joy Dabila) in the Village

4pm: Beer vs Wine Workshop #1 - Put your taste buds to the test at this summer's educational tasting workshop series. You'll pair local Vermont cheese with three different beers and three different wines while learning and discussing the fare with Stratton's culinary experts. This workshop series is brought to you by Farrell Distributing. Learn more

4-8pm: Kids Night Out - Kids, ages 4-12, will have a fun-filled evening while parents relax and enjoy dinner out at one of our village restaurants. Stratton will entertain your child with age appropriate hikes on the mountain, interactive games, s’mores by a fire and more. Price includes pizza, s’mores and all activities. Drop off and pick up are at Junior Ski School. Price $39 per child.
