Stratton Summer Activities

The summit of southern Vermont’s highest peak is within reach. Board the Stratton gondola for a leisurely ride to the top of Stratton Mountain and views clear across four states and mountain ranges. You’re 360 degree vantage point includes the Green Mountain, White Mountains, Adirondacks and Berkshires. Savor the view with a picnic lunch or take the easy 1.4 mile roundtrip walk to the historic 55-foot tall firetower with stairs to a glass-enclosed lookout; Built in 1914 by the Stratton Mountain Club the Stratton firetower is the only one of its kind remaining in the Green Mountains today. The scene is breathtaking, especially during fall foliage.

Did you know? The Stratton firetower, manned until 1979, is featured in the National Register of Historic Structures and the National Historic Lookout Register.
