Programs vary by day but core group activities focus on art, mountain exploration, sports, and instructional swimming sessions.
Our approach to art draws inspiration from the great outdoors and nature that surrounds us here in the Green Mountains. Campers will learn about the art and history of Vermont and create projects to take home with them, which include printmaking, textile art, mixed media, tie dying and watercolors. All materials are supplied.
Our athletic goal is to develop young children into lifetime sporting enthusiasts. We do this with a proven program of athletic development that begins to teach our campers the FUNdamentals for successful movement essential in all athletic endeavors. Extensive research has shown that the younger children begin with structured movement-based training the faster they develop athletically. Our program incorporates instruction into fun sessions that will have your child begging to come back to camp.
Golf and tennis classes will also be offered on a weekly basis, hosted at The Drysdale Tennis School and Stratton Golf School.
Our program of outdoor activities is designed to get campers outside, educated and enjoying the scenic natural environment that is Stratton Mountain. Specific activities include map and compass work, survival skills, hiking and hiking etiquette, kayaking, and mountain safety education.
The stunning lakes and rivers of Vermont are all around us and our instructional group swimming classes will instill a love and respect for water at a young age. Classes are designed to teach basic water safety and strokes. All counselors are CPR certified and trained according to the AHA standards. Swimming is in our indoor pool at a maximum depth of 4ft. Swimming instruction is conducted by an American Red Cross certified lifeguard or equivalent.
We believe that teamwork and competition go hand -in-hand, and are an integral part of growing up. Our weekly team competitions foster a sense of camaraderie and passion within our campers. They'll strive to do the best for their team and in the process form closer bonds with their fellow campers, making friends for life.
Other exciting activities and camp events include Carnival, Amazing Race Afternoon, Friday Pizza Party and Slip n Slide.
