Stratton Ski Race Camps

 


The Stratton Race Camps are for High School skiers (ages 14-18) who are looking to learn or brush up on racing skills before the High School Racing season or Ski Team try-outs get underway. 

"A few days of focused practice is a great way to jump start your season.  This program provides personalized direction to get you on the "fast track" for the year."  Brian Whatley - Coach

Each weekend session, starting Friday evening when athletes have a chance to meet the coaches, and ending Sunday afternoon, will include race techniques, gate training, video analysis, dry-land training, nutrition and more, with a focus on getting High School skiers a jump on the Race Season.  Saturday and Sunday lift tickets, breakfast, lunch and Saturday evening group dinner are  included.  Athletes can attend from one to all three sessions. 

December 3-4 - Prep for Giant Slalom (Camp 1)
December 10-11 - Giant Slalom and Prep for Slalom (Camp 2)
December 17-18 - Slalom (Camp 3)

Cost:  $260 for one weekend
           $470 for two weekends
           $605 for all three weekends (Best Value!)

8:30 AM: Dry-land training (Warm-up and Stretching)
9:00: Drills and GS Gate Training.  Video
Noon: Lunch
1:00-3:00: Starts drills, Skill development (with free skiing)

Camp 3 - December 17-18: Slalom

8:30 AM: Dry-land training (Warm-up and Stretching)
9:00: Slalom training, drills.  Video
Noon: Lunch

6:00: Pasta/Pizza Dinner and Video Analysis

Sunday (Slalom Skis)
7:30 AM: Breakfast
8:30 AM: Dry-land training (Warm-up and Stretching)
9:00: Timed Slalom training.  Video
Noon: Lunch
1:00-3:00: Bumps skiing (Slalom Skis)

Campers must:
- Be able to ski most black diamond trails in parallel most of the time, and all blue terrain in parallel all of the time.
- Have a signed waiver
- Must wear a helmet at all times, and have adequate protective gear, as listed below

Camper's Equipment Requirements*:
All Camps: Dry-land training gear - sneakers, shorts, sweatpants, sweatshirt 
On Snow Gear*:  
   All Camps:  Warm winter clothing, gloves and helmets
   Camp 1: GS Skis and Poles
   Camp 2: Slalom Skis and poles, Shin guards, mouth guard
