Burton Experience Snowboarding Center  at Stratton offers  personalized snowboard gear fitting, “Learn to Ride” and “Session Lessons,” snowboard and boot rentals. Learn-to-Ride

You'll be linking turns before you know it with this great value in a snowboard learning package. Using equipment carefully designed by Burton Snowboards with the beginner in mind, we add creative teaching methods to help make learning to snowboard quick, easy and fun!

Designed exclusively for beginners, this package includes two 1 ¾ hour snowboard lessons, learning area lift ticket and the landmark Burton Learn-to-Ride gear system.

The LTR boot/binding/board system combined with proven teaching techniques in a fun, supportive environment will get you started on the right foot, or goofy foot as the case may be.

Novice Session

Strengthen your snowboard skills and confidence as we take you all over the mountain. Get some mileage and establish a solid foundation on the green circle trails. Stratton Mountain offers  a wide variety of terrain accessible to the novice snowboarder.

Intermediate Session

Groomers: Develop a feel for the snow while learning to negotiate some of Stratton’s  best trails. Have fun with others of similar ability while building confidence to carve turns on the groomers.

Trees: Learn the ropes in some of the greatest glades in New England. Gain comfort and confidence while learning how to choose a safe line and negotiate your run through the trees.

Parks: Session in the park, learn how to properly assess features and learn a few new tricks. SES (Stratton Safety Education Session) pass required. Get your SES pass here.

Expert Session

Trees: Experience some of the greatest glades in the East! Our experienced instructors will guide you through the many black diamond glades and help with a safe, fun, tactical approach to conquering the technique for successful in the glades!

Bumps: Improve your ability in the bumps! Proven techniques to increase your comfort, speed and tactics while negotiating Stratton’s black diamond bump runs. Explore and expand your abilities!

Steeps: Take it up a notch! Ride Stratton’s black diamonds and double diamonds. Our expert instructors will lead you to the most challenging terrain,  highlighting the skills for  confidence and strong technique on advanced terrain.

The best way to get in tune with the mountain and achieve your true potential. Choose your own instructor or we'll choose a pro to suit your ability and interest. Available for 1 hour, 1 3/4 hour, half day or full day.

Cancellation Policy

Outside of 7 days prior to the lesson – full refund to credit card
7 days to 48 hours prior to lesson time: $50 cancellation fee, with remaining balance on a gift card
Within 48 hours of lesson time: full forfeiture of  lesson fee (for example, Saturday noon lesson must be cancelled prior to noon on Thursday)

Blue Square, Black Diamond and Double Black Diamond Terrain Experiences

Beyond those first few lessons and ready to explore new trails? Join enthusiasts of a similar level, learn new skills and have more fun on the mountain. Whether you are just turning on green terrain, ready to explore Stratton's renowned glades or find a good line through the bumps, group lessons are appropriate for any skill level. Group lessons available for ages 13 and up. The lesson is 1¾ hours at 9:45 or 1:15. Lift tickets and rentals are sold separately.

Available for $49 Weekdays, $54 Weekends, $59 Holidays. This program can be booked at Guest Services, Experience Snowboarding Center or Village Rentals.
