Snow Report

Stratton's Snow Report Mantra: Snow reporting can be a tricky business. It's often tough to seperate the truth from the window dressing. However, at Stratton we pride ourselves in delivering a clear coherent message. Our philosophy regarding snow reporting is simple: deliver cold hard facts that honestly reflect the conditions on the mountain at that time. While others may only report part of the story, we've always attempted to be as transparent as possible. We won't twist words or statistics. Instead we'll tell you what's open, what's not and what conditions you can expect when you arrive on the mountain. That's the Stratton difference and that's why our snow is guaranteed, any time, any day.

November 21-23:

This week has been highly productive as we continue to prepare for our season opener next Wednesday, November 26th.

The ideal weather conditions we've enjoyed all week are forecasted to remain in the area through next week, meaning the snowmaking crew will continue to churn out the snow with the assistance of one of the most powerful snowmaking systems in the business.

Thus far, more than 200 fan, land and HKD guns have discharged a barrage of snow on portions of the upper and lower mountain with trails such as Polar Bear, Grizzly Bear, Suntanner and Yodeler receiving significant snow coverage to name just a few.

To date, more than 30 million gallons of water have been pumped through our snowmaking system, the equilavent of more than 140 football fields worth of snow so great it's guaranteed, and there's enough time left before we open to create a road of snow 10 feet wide by 1 foot deep, all the way to Springfield, MA!..But that would be a waste, so we're just going to keep it on the mountain.

Snowmaking efforts over the weekend will intially focus on portions of the lower mountain and beginnier to intermediate terrain before returning to the upper reaches of the mountain to cover trails such as Frank's Fall Line (formerly North American) and East Meadow.

With only a few days until the mountain opens for business, we remain focused on creating optimal conditions for our guests who have come to expect Stratton's high quality brand of snow and gold medal grooming.

So dust off your gear, throw on a fresh coat of wax, sharpen your edges and start to prepare yourself for the winter season here at Stratton. Only several more day's until we're all enjoying the finest skiing and riding in Vermont.

In the mean time, enjoy the weekend and we look forward to seeing you soon!
