In the Beginning

Stratton has nearly become synonymous with snowboarding, and that's no accident. Before most of the rest of the world even knew what a halfpipe was, Stratton was shaping and perfecting their U-Ditch. However, what truly comprises Stratton's snowboarding history are its riders. From the 93/94 crew to SMS student-athletes to the kids who just grew up riding here with their families and those who will become the future of the sport, they ride here; they're our family.

In 2006, Brooke Shaw added six, first place finishes to her already notable competition resume. Taking first in GS/SL and Halfpipe in the USASA Southern Vermont Snowboard Series Overalls in the 14-15 age group...
She won her first boardercross contest under the lights at Stratton. At only 10, she beat everyone in the field!  Today, they're saying "Lindsey Jacobellis is the Tiger, the Barry, the Kobe of women's Snowboarder X."

After an amazing 2005 – 2006 season, Spencer Shaw wowed the audience and fellow competitors at Burton’s New Zealand Open, as the youngest competitor to qualify for the semifinals.
