Summer Top Ten
10. The Opportunities to Learn
Stratton Golf University and The Gunterman Tennis School are two of the most highly regarded schools of their kind. Using the latest video analysis technology and focusing on individualized instruction, the programs are designed to cater to each student’s ability and learning style. Hone your skills on the 27-hole Stratton golf course or practice your backhand on one of the mountain’s fifteen outdoor tennis courts. Just because school is out of session doesn’t mean you can’t learn anything.
Enroll or get more information.
Stratton is home to a 27-hole championship golf course that is considered one of the best public courses in New England. Designed by famed golf course architect Geoffrey Cornish, the Stratton Mountain course features three different 9-hole layouts that incorporate the natural features of the land. Save with the Golf Value Pass or Green Card.
9. The Adventure
Just because the winter season is over doesn’t mean that the adventure stops at Stratton Mountain. The summer is the perfect time to come and take advantage of all the action on and around Stratton Mountain. Whitewater Rafting or Kayaking on the nearby West River with Zoar Outdoor, Paintball on the mountain with the Avalanche Paintball crew, or explore miles of hiking trails including the Appalachian and Long Trails which run over the Stratton Summit!
8. The Great Outdoors
Why else do you come to Vermont? Mountains, rivers, black bear, valleys, lakes, moose, fields, streams, rare birds such as the Bicknell’s Thrush, and unobstructed vistas abound in southern Vermont. Summer was meant to be spent outside and there is no place better than Stratton Mountain to enjoy nature’s bounty. Head over to the Orvis headquarters in nearby Manchester and fish the famous Battenkill River with some of the country’s best guides, or just kick you feet up and feel the sunshine on your face. However you prefer spending your time outdoors, you can find it at Stratton!
7. The Food and Drink
Whether you are looking for a cheeseburger, fresh salmon, or Filet Mignon, the Stratton Village offers a wide range of breakfast, lunch and dinner fare suited for any gastronomic inclination. Try Verde for fine cuisine prepared by first class chefs or Mulberry Street for a pizza and some large portion traditional Italian meals. Just because après ski is over doesn’t mean there is nothing to do after a long day on the mountain. Enjoy your favorite beverages outdoors in the base area on weekends and holidays and hit up local hot spots Mulligans and Mulberry Street once the sun goes down. As an added bonus, Stratton Mountain’s bars and restaurants are within walking distance to nearly every accommodation so you can relax and enjoy the nightlife as you want!
6. The Routes and Roads
Motorcycle riders and driving enthusiasts may also find their own slice of heaven at Stratton. Some of the best roads in the country run over mountain passes, through river valleys, and across Vermont’s famous covered bridges. Explore hundreds of miles of scenic roads on your own or take a guided motorcycle tour with a local Stratton rider! Plenty of covered parking is available. Check it out now!
If your idea of riding doesn’t incorporate a motor, many of the same routes are excellent and challenging cycling routes.
5. The Camaraderie
Plan a trip with friends, clients, or co-workers and indulge in the quality time you will get to spend. Whether there are two or two-hundred, Stratton has the lodging, meeting space and activity capabilities for any sized group. 4. The Music
Stratton is all set to hold its seventh annual Bluegrass Festival and Fourth of July celebration. Live music will also be going on throughout the rest of the summer in the Stratton Village and at local area music venues like The Red Fox Inn at the bottom of the access road and The Perfect Wife in nearby Manchester.
3. The Lodging

Look west for views of Mt. Equinox and the Taconic range. Further in the distance and to the northwest, you can see all the way to Whiteface and the high peaks of the Adirondack Mountains. To the east, see all the way to New Hampshire and get a view of Mount Monadnock and even Mount Washington.
