Stratton, VT- When girls night out just doesn't cut it, how about a weekend getaway at Stratton Mountain Resort?  Located in southern Vermont just 4 hours from New York City and 3 hours from Boston, Stratton is the perfect weekend retreat for you and your friends.

The Outdoors

Hike or take the gondola to the Stratton summit and find yourself on top of the highest peak in southern Vermont.  Spread out across the horizon will be the Mt. Equinox in nearby Manchester, the White Mountains of New Hampshire, The Adirondack Mountains in upstate New York, and the continuation of the Green Mountain range as you look north into Vermont.  Bring a picnic lunch and soak up the sun on the deck of the Hubert Haus or hike a piece of the famous Appalachian and Long Trails that run over the Stratton Summit.  If you're lucky you may see a moose or friendly black bear that call the mountain home!

For the even more adventurous, sign up for whitewater rafting on the West River with Zoar Outdoors, explore area swimming holes, or blow off some steam and play paintball with Avalanche Paintball located in the Sunbowl base area.  Southern Vermont is a mecca for experiencing nature as it was meant to be.

The Golf

Sign up for personalized instruction at the world famous Stratton Golf University  or play a few rounds on the 27-hole championship course.  While Stratton has always been known for its world class skiing and snowboarding, golf takes the cake for queen of the summertime activities!  With a beautiful scenic backdrop, the Stratton Mountain Golf Course has played host to six LPGA events and is considered to be one of the best public courses in New England!  Make sure you reserve your tee time 24 hours in advance.

The Tennis

The Gunterman Tennis School offers a variety of packages that will fit any schedule, budget, and ability.  With a 4:1 student to instructor ratio, seven hard courts, eight har-tru courts, indoor courts and a video stroke analysis, The Gunterman Tennis School has been voted a top 25 tennis camp in North America by tennisresortsonline.com and number one overall in New England according to Court Time Magazine.  The school offers two and five day sessions between May 17 and October 12. 

The Nightlife

Authentic Italian food at Mulberry Street, a warm ambience and higher end American pub cuisine at Mulligans, or fine dining at Verde or Luna, some of the areas best restaurants lie conveniently located in the Stratton Village just steps away from your accommodations.  After a long day on the course, courts, mountain or shops, sit outside and enjoy a glass of wine or cocktail on the patio before indulging in some of Stratton's great cuisine.  Relax and have as much fun as you want knowing that your room is a short walk away.

The Pampering

The Stratton Fitness Center will be open all summer long and offers facilities from treadmills to tanning beds.  Swim laps in the indoor pool, take a Yoga class, have a soak in the hot tub, and treat yourself to a massage from one of Stratton's experienced massage therapists.  After a long day on the mountain or out on the course, there is nothing better than a little rest and relaxation.  You deserve it!

The Shopping

Stroll through the Stratton Village to Von Bargen's Jewelery or drive 30 minutes into nearby Manchester for some outlet shopping.  Stores such as Banana Republic, BCBG, J. Crew, The Gap, Burberry, Ann Taylor, Polo and more line the streets of historic Manchester.  To mix things up, stroll through the famous gardens of the Hildene Estate or have lunch at one of the many excellent Manchester restaurants.

The Accommodations

Summertime is the best time to come and stay at Stratton.  The outdoor pools are open and all rooms are discounted.  Reserve a condo and bunk up with your best friends or book a block of hotel rooms at the Inn at Stratton.  All of Stratton's accommodations lie in close proximity to the mountain and all of the Stratton Village facilities, shops and restaurants.
