Q: What is it like being home?
A: It's great coming home for the holidays and being at Stratton and on top of that it's snowing. We get a little bit of freshies every day which makes it great for the mountain and makes it a very promising January.
Q: What's the boardercross course like?
A: The course is pretty fun. It's pretty fast and there is a nice little double in it. And I think it is a really great training experience for any youngster that wants to jump in there because we need that young exposure and for little kids to really get stoked on the course so it's good that we have one at Stratton.
Q: What does a beginner need to know before attempting to boardercross?
A: Definitely go and inspect the course. Make sure you know all the features and you're not taken by surprise. It's probably the number one safety thing.
Q: What does this place mean to you?
A: Stratton means home to me and just a friendly face. I know everyone here, so anytime I turn a corner, I'm always running into somebody I know. It's a pretty cool feeling to have such history in one place.
Q: Tell us about your connections to
A: I stop into school pretty much anytime I'm home and check out the gym and say hi to people. It's pretty cool to go back there as an alum and see my picture on the wall. To be a part of something like that, it's a pretty unique experience. Not everyone gets to have that so I'm very fortunate to be a part of that situation.
Q: Do you have a favorite memory of being up here?
A: A couple of years ago I had a really, really good powder day, I can't tell you exactly where I went because that's top secret, but I haven't been around for the last few powder days that have been here because I've been traveling. It's pretty cool that it's snowing here now and I'm having a blast.
Q: How excited are you for the next few months.
A: Well, it's not all exciting! It's actually pretty stressful. I'm sticking to the game plan, working out, staying focused and going to one event at a time, but it's pretty cool and a fun experience and hopefully it comes out well and I have a great year.
Q: What's your favorite trail here at Stratton?
A: I'd have to say Spruce is one of my all time favorites riding the right side while it's good for regular riders, it really plays well for us. And then you can take that to Interstate and get to both of the parks from there. The
