Stratton announces 'Fire and Ice' Festival 2010 |
The month is highlighted by Stratton's 'Fire and Ice' festival, action packed with events and activities for all ages, including the official Lindsey Jacobellis hometown viewing party as she goes for gold.
The schedule of events is as follows.
Feb. 13 Fire on the Mountain
An epic opening party with fireworks, a torch light parade, bon fire, snow sculpture contest and Grateful Dead cover bands, with tie dye shirts of course.
Feb. 14 Sweetheart Sunday
The Villager chair turns into the 'Sweetheart Chair' all decked out with red ribbons and hearts. The American Express lift becomes the 'Speed Dating' lift as singles will have approximately four minutes to impress a future love interest before they can decide to ski, or not to ski down together. Food and drink specials will entice your favorite Valentine, as will a special V-Day dinner at Bentley's to cap off the most romantic day of the year.
Feb. 15 Mystery Monday
We've always been a place to come and play, so our resort-wide game of CLUE should entice those looking for a new challenge. And if you know Stratton trivia, win big with Q and A sessions and our 'cash cabin' gondola.
Feb. 16 Triumphant Tuesday
Watch Lindsey Jacobellis go for gold on the big screen with her Stratton friends. Other scheduled plans include a freestyle jump exhibition, an ice skating party and an opportunity to try several sports from cross country skiing, to curling and (paintball) biathlon.
Feb. 17 Wacky Wednesday
Volleyball in the snow? Frisbee golf? Beach games? It all happens on Wacky Wednesday. And don't forget to pick up a Leis in the lift line from an employee, fully decked out in Hawaiian apparel.
Feb. 18 Thriller Thursday
Not only will there be a DJ spinning the 'King of Pop's greatest hits, but revelers at the late night 'Thriller' party in Grizzly's can learn MJ's dance step by step from an on-site instructor. And don't miss the Michael Jackson parade through the Village square, with prizes for the top three lookalikes.
Feb. 19 Family Fun Friday
The base lodge turns into the local cinema with a movie and pizza party. Popcorn and a cash bar also included.
Feb. 20 Silly Saturday
Get your laugh on with comedians on the Village Stage and in Grizzly's with cabaret style seating, late night snacks and drinks. Come catch our strolling magician during the day compete with a team of stilt walkers and a fire eaters.
Feb. 21 'Ski Ya Later' Sunday! An over the top Stratton style exit party in the Courtyard complete with cider, donuts, s'mores and cocoa. We'll want to send you home happy!
