Get Down with Your Rad Self- US Open After Party

Stratton Mountain, VT- When it is all said and done, and the world's best riders have hucked, spun, rode, and grabbed their way to the podium and largest single payout in professional snowboarding, it is thanks to four weeks of preparation, enough displaced snow to bury the Statue of Liberty, and over 550 man hours of labor getting the park and pipe into competition shape!

Previously when the mountain exhaled at the end of the Open, skiers and riders were forced to watch the destruction of the competition terrain.  For many, this was a heartbreaking routine that seemed such a waste of time, energy, and a beautiful piece of on snow engineering.  Not this year!  For the first time ever, Stratton Mountain is going to let the world's largest park and pipe hang out for a while, giving visitors to the mountain VIP access to ride like the pros!

Stratton Mountain's experienced grooming crew, along with park and pipe specialist companies Planet Snow and Snow Park Technologies, have been stacking and shaping what will be the superpipe and slopestyle course for the 26th annual Burton U.S. Open Snowboarding Championships.  For the crew, the building process has been whittled down to a science and despite the occasional battle with the elements, creating a world class park and pipe has become standard practice.
