2008 U.S. Open at Stratton Mountain

Stratton Mountain, VT- As the grooming crew and park and pipe specialists work round the clock putting the finishing touches the slopestyle course and superpipe, Stratton Mountain braces for the twenty-sixth annual Burton U.S. Open Snowboarding Championship.  Fans, members of the media, industry affiliates and professional snowboarders will be converging on the mountain for this prestigious and historically significant event.

Stratton Mountain has had a long standing relationship with Burton Snowboards and the sport of snowboarding in general.  In 1983, Stratton was the first mountain on the east coast to open its doors to participants of the sport.  At the time Burton Snowboard's founder Jake Burton was living in and operating his fledgling business out of nearby Londonderry and helped to launch the Stratton Snowboard School.  2008 will be the twenty-third year that the U.S. Open has come to Stratton and will once again feature the best and brightest snowboarding stars on the planet!
