Play a Better Game of Golf, Guaranteed at Stratton’s Golf U

STRATTON MOUNTAIN, Vt – From the first-timer to the seasoned pro, Stratton’s Golf U programs give golfers the tools to improve their game while learning in a fun, relaxed atmosphere. Golf U’s curriculum is designed to build golfers and improve and shave stokes off of already established golfers’ games, giving every person who swings a club at the University, a better game, guaranteed.

The construction of a golfer begins on Golf U’s 22 acre teaching facility, where every shot in golf can be simulated, from uphill to sidehill, sand to troubleshot. For those who have never played, or have just tested the waters, the Intro to Golf 101 “course work”, starts with the basics needed to build a strong foundation. Level 201 then builds on those fundamentals while 301 gives even the strongest golfers more tools to improve their game. Golf U Director, John Neubauer, explained the sequential course work, saying, “Our professionals will help golfers assess their own game and achieve their goals as they climb through the program, from 101 to 201 and on to our specialty programs”.

Shortened Golf U Spring Training Courses begin May 5, but the full course load of the Core Programs begins May 24 and runs through October 26. Both the two and three day Core Programs offer six hours of customized instruction, video swing analysis, an instruction book, a complimentary round of golf with cart after each day’s session on Stratton’s 27-Hole Championship Golf Course, breakfast and lunch daily, access to Stratton’s Sports Center and shuttle service around the resort. The two day programs begin on Saturdays, Mondays and Thursdays, while the three day programs begin on Mondays. Special one day programs are also offered Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays, August 2 through October 6.

Golf students looking for an extra something will find it in Specialty Electives at the University, offered later in the summer. From the non-intensive, social Women’s Golf sessions, to high-level instruction for 7 – 14 year olds at Junior Golf, to Corporate Group and VIP sessions, there is a specialty program for every golfer.

One of the secrets to students’ success at Golf U is the low student-to-instructor ratio. While keeping groups very small, both the Core Programs and Specialty Electives fill up quickly. The University asks that golfers enroll early for best availability.

Stratton’s golf school will open its doors for the summer on May 5, 2007, celebrating 38 years of focused instruction for golfers of all levels. Founded in 1969 by Arnold Palmer, Stratton Golf School changed its name to Stratton Golf University in 2006. With the name change the school ushered in a new philosophy, centered on continuing education and building life-long golfers, who truly love the game and appreciate everything that it has to offer.
