About Alpine Racing

Alpine Race Program:

The Alpine Race Program utilizes a blend of methodology taken from the Professional Ski Instructors of America (PSIA) and the United States Ski and Snowboard Association (USSA).  This is a skills based approach that is designed first and foremost to be fun and then to develop strong skiing skills that eventually translate into success on the race hill.  By facilitating a love of the sport we are helping each athlete to be the best that they can be.

Alpine Racing is in session all weekends beginning November 29, 2008 – March 29, 2009
Winter Break: December 26, 2008 - January 4, 2009.  (Please note: programs will not be in session on Christmas Day)
Martin Luther King Weekend: January 17-19, 2009
President's Week: February 16 -20, 2008

USSA and VARA (Vermont Alpine Racing Association) are the bodies which govern ski racing in Vermont.  VARA has three councils; the Southern Vermont Council (SVC) which we belong, the Mid Vermont Council, and the Northern Vermont Council.

STC racers up to the J-II level participate in the Southern Vermont Council Races.  The ski programs comprising SVC are Stratton, Bromley, Magic, Mount Snow, and Willard Mountain in New York.

*Please go to the Race Competition Permission Slips (located below) and fill one out for each athlete. You can mail them or bring them on your first weekend with us.
