Always grocery shop with a list.
Get creative with leftovers.
Concoct new recipes, so nothing is wasted.
Bum a ride with friends and chip in for gas.
Keep up on your car's maintenance.
Turn off the PC if you won't be using it for an hour or more.

GAVE EM' THE PICKLE
Our customers are continually impressed with the service they receive at Stratton Mountain. We'd like to share with you some of the experiences that they have had here that sets us apart from the competition, and the people who make it happen!!
"There is only one boss. The customer. And he can fire everybody in the company from the chairman on down, simply by spending his money somewhere else."
- Sam Walton, the founder of Walmart
Meeting went well. Congrats to all the club staff. The fact that the guys commented frequently about the hospitality of everyone says a lot. A good example was Joe, the CEO, who walked back yesterday from the Club to check out. It was bitter cold and when he got to check out and was about to walk back to the club, the employee noticed that he
only had a baseball hat and gave him her Stratton ski hat. Joe kept commenting throughout yesterday that that type of customer service was what they needed to bring to Brainshark.
Thank you Melissa Allison!
Everyone at the Inn was wonderful, but I would certainly like to acknowledge the day time shuttle driver. I think her name is Erica, an older lady from Austria. She is one of the most incredible people I have ever encountered. Her super personality and love for her job, the people she services and just her entire deminer is beyond words. We have been coming to the Stratton Inn for at least 3 years and of course have skiied Stratton for many years, and its people like Erica who make me want to come back. Just to show you, my husband and I could not wait to talk with her again this year...and guess what she remembered us from other years. She is one of the most memorable people I have encountered on a vacation ever. Its people like her that make people like us return to your resort. If you don't have an employee recognition program you should start one and Erica should be the shining star. Please be sure this is passed on to her boss and anyone else who should know. Way too often people take the time to complain but never take the time to say, "Erica, thank you for making my trip extra special. She indeed is a very special lady. Thank you Erica Mossl!
GREEN TEAM TOPIC OF THE MONTH
Saving fuel doesn't just help line our pockets. It serves the greater good of man kind by improving air quality and the health of those around you. Here are a few easy tips to help you help us all!!!
Drive Sensibly: Speeding, rapid acceleration, and braking all wastes gas. Driving more sensibly can save fuel by 5-33% (town driving versus highway driving) and .05-.71 cents per gallon!
Observe the Speed Limit: Life isn't a race folks, so save your gas. Gas mileage decreases rapidly at speeds above 60 mph. By following the posted speed limits you can lower your gas mileage by 7-23% and save .21-.71 cents per gallon
Remove Excess Weight: Using your car as a storage unit can break the bank and harm the planet. By emptying all those un-needed things from your car you can cut your gas mileage by 1-2% and save .03-.06 cents per gallon!!
Avoid Excessive Idling: Think of it this way, idling gets 0 miles per gallon. Not very cost effective is it?
Use Cruise Control: Using cruise control helps you maintain a constant speed and will help save gas in most cases (see drive sensibly!)
HEALTH AND WELLNESS
Don't you wish you could plug yourself into the wall and re-charge like all of today's gadgets? Well, we may not have the convenience of a cord, but there are still some things we can do for a quick re-charge!!
Refuel: Have a quick, healthy snack!!
Breathe Deeply: Spend 5 minutes taking deep, deliberate breathes to help calm yourself and renew dwindling energy
Take a Visual Break: Close your eyes and go on a mental vacation. Visualizing yourself relaxed can help relieve real live tensions!
Snap out of it: Splash cold water on your face and eat a mint; the mind flavor is a natural stimulant!
