Employee Housing

On-mountain employee housing and Dostals employee housing are available for a limited number of full-time seasonal employees only. Dostals is situated about 20 minutes from Stratton Mountain Resort in a remote area at Magic Mountain.  Rooms are dormitory style with single/bunk beds.  The rooms sleep 2 – 4 persons per room.  There is a new rebuilt Kitchen, Laundry and a Fantastic Lounge.  Stratton supplies a shuttle service from Stratton Mountain Resort to housing and back.  Stratton Mountain Resort provides 2 weekly shopping trips for employees @ $5.00 per person.

Rent Collection
• Employee housing rent is $100.00 per week
• Rent payments will not be deducted from your paycheck
• Rent can be paid at the following locations:
   o The Inn at Stratton Mountain
   o The Sales Center
   o The Welcome Center
• You will need your employee season pass in order to make a payment.
• Forms of payment include:
   o Cash
   o Credit Card
   o Debit Card
   o Personal Check
• Rent is payable in $100 increments, and may never exceed more then $300 in back rent.
• If you exceed more then $300 in outstanding rent, eviction proceedings will follow and you the tenant will have 7 days to bring your rent to under $300 or leave Employee housing. Your security deposit will be held in the amount of what you owe in back rent.

Security Deposit
• The employee housing security deposit is $300
• Security Deposit payments will not be deducted from your paycheck
• The Security Deposit can be paid at the following locations:
   o The Inn at Stratton Mountain
   o The Sales Center
   o The Welcome Center
• You will need your employee season pass in order to make a payment.
• Forms of payment include:
   o Cash
   o Credit Card
   o Debit Card
   o Personal Check
• Security deposits are to be paid in full within the first week of residence at employee housing.
• Security deposits are held due to any room damage in the duration of your stay in housing, or any outstanding rent that is unpaid.  Security Deposits will be returned upon a successful check out with your Resident Assistant or Housing Manager.

Transportation: Stratton provides a shuttle service for our International employees from Brattleboro Greyhound Bus Station in Brattleboro, Vermont to your housing.  We collect employees arriving from overseas on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 6:55pm.  The cost is $20.00 per person.  We will only be collecting employees at 6:55pm on those days, if you arrive in Brattleboro, Vermont earlier you will need to wait till 6:55pm.  Please make sure you contact Human Resources to arrange a seat on the bus.  The driver will have an arrivals list for that pick up, if your name is not on the list, we cannot guarantee a seat on the Shuttle.
Stratton provides a daily shuttle service from Employee Housing to work and back.   There is no cost to the employee for this service.  Please review shuttle schedule on arrival.
Stratton provides 2 shopping trips per week for employees to purchase food and necessities.  These trips are WEATHER dependant.  You will need to sign up with your RA in your housing location.  The cost is $5.00 per person per trip.

Housing Deposit Refund:  Once you have had your room checked by your RA and he has signed off that your deposit can be released, you deposit will be mailed to your home.  Any damages or rent owed will be deducted from your deposit.  This takes about 2 weeks after you leave Stratton Mountain Resort.


For those employees wanting to rent their own housing, the town of Londonderry/South Londonderry (a very, very small town) is 10 miles from the ski area and offers the closest housing to the ski area. Housing can also be found in Manchester, about 30 miles away.  This is the closest town with Restaurants and Shopping.  Please remember that you need to have your own transport if you do not live in Employee Housing.  The Employee Shuttle is for employees in Employee Housing.

The Avalanche Motel in Manchester rents motel rooms' weekly/monthly.  Contact Kyle on 802 362 2622 to arrange your room for the winter.  You will need your own transport as Stratton does not provide a shuttle from Manchester - Stratton Mountain Resort.  Part-time employees must find their own lodging off the mountain.

Things to remember when renting your own housing:

1. When renting directly from a homeowner instead of a real estate agency, be sure to carefully read and sign a lease that clearly identifies when your security deposit will be returned and who is responsible for paying which utilities (electricity, oil/propane, telephone, trash removal, snow removal, T.V., etc.).

2. Do not sign a lease or put money down on a place that you have not physically inspected first.

3. Take a thorough inventory of your place before moving in and after moving out to ensure the full return of your security deposit money.
