Eligibility

  • Full time Stratton Mountain Resort employees have first priority for the limited spots in employee housing, if spots become available through out the winter season then part time staff are eligible to apply.

  • Once an employee is hired their manager or supervisor will allot the employee a spot in employee housing if requested and if a spot is available. Then the employee will need to fill out a housing application.

  • Once housing application has been submitted you will receive an email conformation from cdevine@intrawest.com and will be walked through the remaining steps

  • The application process will ask you to designate a check-in time and date.

All Employee Housing Residents must be Stratton Mountain Resort employees

  • A damage deposit if $300 is due prior to arrival in employee housing in the form of personal check, money order or credit card. NO EXEPTIONS (for more information please see general information)

  • Credit cards, debit cards and cash can be used for all other Employee Housing payments

  • We have a minimum stay of 4 weeks a total of $400, Stratton Mountain Resort has the rights to keep damage deposit & deduct from payroll for this 4 week period if a resident decides to move out or is asked to leave.


General Information

General Information

On-mountain employee housing and Dostal’s employee housing are available for a limited number of full-time seasonal employees only. Dostal’s is situated about 20 minutes from Stratton Mountain Resort in a remote area at Magic Mountain. On-mountain employee housing is limited and is located in the Lift Line Lodge building, these rooms are only for employees that work hours that our shuttle service to and from Dostal’s does cater to. On-mountain housing is also not available upon request these rooms will be assigned by department managers and the employee housing manager.

Dostal’s consists of three separate buildings (Main, Annex & House) all located in very close proximity to one another, and is dormitory style living. Most rooms occupy 2-4 residents with its own bathroom, and limited storage space. Each Dostal’s building has it own communal kitchen and common area with a television. The main building has a laundry room (pay per wash, washers & dryers), pool tables, ping pong, vending machines, arcade games & a large common area with a big screen television. The main building and the amenities provided are for all Dostal’s residents and is only about 100 feet from the furthest of the Dostal’s buildings being the Annex.

Rent Collection & Damage Deposit


A residents damage deposit must be paid prior to arrival into any employee housing location. Please do not send the damage deposit until instructed by the housing manager. This deposit can be paid in the form of:

  • Credit Card
  • Debit Card
  • Check
  • Money order

  • If paid with Check or Money order it will be mailed to address below

    No Resident will be admitted into employee housing until this payment and been made, and possessed NO EXEPTIONS.

    Rent is $100 a week and is collected once every two weeks at the end of every pay period. The main source of rent collection is through payroll deduction but depending on an employee’s hours worked in a pay period the deduction of rent may not be a full $200 due to wage restrictions set in place by the federal government. If an employee does not have the full amount removed from a pay check it becomes their responsibility to pay the remaining amount at these locations:

  • Inn at Stratton Mountain
  • Welcome Center
  • Sales Center

  • These locations are all located in walking distance from any department on the resort. Residents must pay this remaining amount no more then 3 days after a paycheck is issued. Paychecks are issued Friday’s the remaining balance must be paid by Monday, NO EXEPTIONS.

    Shuttles & Shopping trips


    Shuttles are provide several times a day to and from Dostal’s and Stratton Mountain Resort for all residents living at Dostal’s. The shuttle times are subject to change due to skier visits at the resort, events at the resort and number of residents residing at Dostal’s. Shuttle times listed below are the average times

    Shopping trips are provided twice a week at the cost of $5 per resident, shopping trips run on Tuesday and Friday evenings at 6:30pm. Tuesday night goes to Bennington Vermont (Aldi’s, Walmart, Pricechopper) Friday night goes to Rutland Vermont (Walmart, Pricechopper, etc). These trips can be signed up for and gone on by any resident living in employee housing (On-mountain or Dostal’s).

    Also a biweekly shopping trip to Manchester Center VT or Brattleboro NH at the cost of $5 to different shopping centers.

    Rules & Standards


    Housing Rules: There are Rules in place at Stratton Mountain Resort Employee housing to keep all Residents SAFE, and will be monitored and strictly enforced.
  • NO UNDERAGE DRINKING
  • NO SMOKING INDOORS
  • NO SLEEPING IN COMMON AREAS
  • NO OVER NIGHT GUESTS (unless approved by your room mates)
  • NO PETS
  • NO KEGS OR BEER BALLS ANYWHERE IN HOUSING
  • NO ILLEGAL SUBSTANCES
  • NO OVER NIGHT GUESTS (unless approved with you’re room mate(s))
  • TAMPERING WITH FIRE SUPPERSION SYSTEMS OR ALARMS
  • NO GLASS WEAR IN ANY COMMON AREA
  • NO OPEN CONTAIINERS OF ALCOHOL IN COMMON AREAS (examples are but not limited to beer cans bottles, glass beer bottles, bottles of wine & or liquor)
  • QUIET HOURS are between 11pm and 8am
  • RESIDENTS MUST CLEAN UP AFTER THEMSELEVES
  • Violence, threatening behavior, harassment, illegal activity, destruction of property or vandalism will not be tolerated
  • These rules exist for YOUR SAFTEY, and can result in evection if broken

    Housing Safety Requirements:
  • No flammable substances are allowed in the buildings
  • No cooking on outside decks
  • Doors cannot be propped open
  • No food shall be left cooking while unattended
  • All halls and common areas left clear of trash and personal items
  • No candles, incense, holiday lights or other fire dangers
  • PLEASE IDENTIFY the two closest building exits from your room

  • FIRE SAFETY: When a Fire alarm is triggered all residents must vacate the building(s) to a specified location (listed below) and may not enter building(s) until is cleared to do so by fire department, police officer, or housing staff member. YOU MUST LEAVE THE BUILDING, even if it is a false alarm or a fire drill.

  • Dostal’s main building, Annex and House, just cross the street and meet at the Inn at magic mountain parking lot.
  • Lift Line Lodge will cross street and meet at Lot 1.

    We recommend you come with at least $500 to cover your costs of food, rent and basic necessities, Stratton Mountain Resort’s pay system is biweekly beware that you are likely not to receive your first paycheck for 2 weeks after your arrival.

    Vermont is a cold place in the winter remember to bring plenty of warm clothing, snow gear and proper foot wear the ground does get slippery when it is snow and ice covered.

    Remember there is limited storage in your room please bring only what you need, once your housing application has been processed we can put you in contact with your assigned room mate. Bedding not provided, bring a set of Queen-sized linens.

    Q: What is provided in the room?
    A: In the room there are beds with linens provided, a TV and some furniture

    Q: Is there internet and or WIFI?
    A: On-mountain housing does not have internet, Dostal’s Does have wireless and two computers for resident use

    Q: Does the kitchen have cutlery, pots, pans est.?
    A: No we do not provide these things due to lack of care in years past, it is your responsibility to collect and maintain your own cooking equipment

    Q: Can I have a pet?
    A: No

    Q: How do I receive mail?
    A: Dostal’s can pick up mail at HOUSING OFFICE, On-mountain will be delivered by Resident Assistant

    Q: Can I bring a car
    A: Yes there is plenty of parking at all locations, we recommend you bring a vehicle

    Q: Are Shuttles, utilities, cable, internet, est. included in my rent
    A: Yes

    Q: Am I allowed to have guests?
    A: Yes guests permitted as long as your room mate(s) approve, any guests actions are directly reflected onto the resident they are staying with

    Q: How do I receive my damage deposit at the culmination of the season?
    A: After your room has been cleared by a Housing Staff Member you can receive your deposit, in the form it was paid.

    Q: If I am terminated by the resort or seasonally laid off am I permitted to stay in Employee Housing?
    A: No, if you are laid off or terminated you must exit employee housing with in three days
