Lake #1 is a perfect starting hole in golf course design. It gives a golfer the feeling that the round is going to be an enjoyable one. It's not a difficult driving hole offering generous width to the fairway, and the only real trouble is the small brook to the right. Use your driver and aim left-center; with a good drive, you will be left with a mid to short iron to a slightly sloping green from back to front.
