Chi Running Retreat

Welcome to the ground-breaking pain and injury-free technique of ChiRunning, combining the inner focus and flow of T'ai Chi with running. You don’t need to know a thing about T’ai Chi for ChiRunning to work wonders for you. ChiRunning is movement that makes sense. Learn how small adjustments in your movement make a big difference in reducing impact, preventing injuries and decreasing fatigue.

Danny Dreyer
is co-founder of ChiRunning & ChiWalking, a revolutionary form of moving that blends the subtle inner focuses of T'ai Chi with running and walking. His work is based on his study of T'ai Chi with renowned Masters Zhu Xilin & George Xu, and his 35 years of running, racing ultra-marathons and coaching people in “intelligent movement." He has taught thousands of people the ChiRunning & ChiWalking techniques with profound results.

Runners and run-walkers of all capabilities benefit from the ChiRunning Essentials Retreat, from beginners to seasoned marathoners and elites. Contrary to what you might imagine, we do not do lots of running, so no matter what condition you are in, have no fear! The Retreat includes hours of instruction over the four days. The Instructors guide participants through numerous exercises and drills, leaving you with the clear knowledge of what the ChiRunning technique feels like in your body.

About Wind Rose Retreats: Wind Rose Retreats is the leader in resort-hosted retreats.  Wind Rose subscribes to the idea that Mindfulness can help everyone, so retreats are designed to be inclusive and enjoyable. Itinerary

THURSDAY:                         1:00-5:00 PM:    Arrival & check-in is in the afternoon.

                                                5:00-6:00 PM:    Retreat Introduction.

                                                6:00-6:30 PM:    Social ½ hour.

                                                6:30-7:30 PM:    Opening Ceremony Dinner.

                                                7:30-9:30 PM:    Evening Class.

 

FRIDAY & SATURDAY:     7:00-7:45 AM:    Continental Buffet Breakfast.

7:45-9:30 AM:    Personal Activity Hour is based on personal choice and includes: in-room stretching; in-room meditation or yoga; yoga class or group meditation, morning run, walk or hike; morning spa treatment or other activity.

                                                9:30 AM-Noon: Morning Group Session.

                                                Noon-1:00 PM: Group Lunch.

1:30-4:30 PM:    Afternoon Activity Period includes optional activities plus an hour of personal study. Available activities include: small group meditation; breath or specialized yoga class; mindful hiking; spa treatment; complimentary access to Stratton’s state-of-the-art fitness center; tennis; biking; kayaking; golf; or other activity. 

                                                5:30-6:30 PM:    Evening Social Hour.

                                                6:30-7:30 PM:    Group Dinner.

                                                7:30-9:30 PM:    Evening Group Session.

9:30-10:30 PM:  CLOSING HOUR. Frivolity, fun…&, on final evening, CLOSING CEREMONY.

 

SUNDAY:                             7:00-7:45 AM:    Continental Buffet Breakfast.

                                                9:00-11:00 AM:  Concluding Group Session.

                                                Noon:                   A NEW GATEWAY.

WHAT TO BRING:               To maximize your learning experience, we recommend reading the first four chapters of ChiRunning. Bring running shoes, sunscreen & weather appropriate clothing.
