Stratton - Powered by 100% Renewable Energy

On November 21, 2006, Stratton Mountain Resort began using renewable energy. Officials announced the purchase of 16,500,000 kilowatt hours (kWh) of renewable energy credits from Renewable Choice Energy, a leading national provider of renewable energy products.  Stratton Mountain purchased enough credits to offset 100% of the electricity consumption of its entire operation for three years.

Stratton Fresh Tracks

On February 25, 2006, Stratton celebrated its ecological heritage and legacy of conservation by unveiling "Fresh Tracks," a new environmental campaign for the future. Sustainable Slopes Day was an event for children, families, and all guests to learn, play, and join in the fun together with music, a scavenger hunt, and prizes (organic cotton T-shirts, Clif Bar "Cool Tags," and 100% recycled wildflower-seed bookmarks).

Stratton is well known for its commitment to community schools, organizations, and people in need. On Sustainable Slopes Day 2006, Stratton reinforced its definition of community, which includes wildlife, vegetation, local waters, and the air we breathe.
